Next Sunday, 2 November, is shaping up to be a special one at The Refill. We’ll be open from 10am–2pm as part of Indie Sunday (where a range of independent shops commit to being open), and we’ve got two lovely community events happening right here at the shop.

💛 Let’s Buzz Pop-Up at The Refill
We’re excited to welcome Let’s Buzz, a brilliant local community group where people trade goods and share skills without using money.
Let’s Buzz members exchange everything from garden produce, books and clothes to lifts, pet sitting and DIY help, using their local currency called Buzzards. It’s a creative, community-based way to share what you have, access what you need, and build connections along the way.
The Let’s Buzz team will be in the shop from 10am–2pm, ready to chat about how it all works. Pop in to meet some of the members, find out more, and enjoy a slice of cake while you’re here. 🍰

🌸 Litter Pick for Fiona – Raising Funds for Macmillan
At 10.30am, we’ll be heading out for a fundraising litter pick in honour of our friend and customer Fiona Shillitto, who sadly lost her battle with cancer earlier this month.
Fiona was a passionate advocate for green living and a huge supporter of the shop. She helped organise local Swish clothes swap events, joined our litter picks whenever she could, and even donated litter pickers to us for others to use. This litter pick is our small way of remembering her and celebrating the difference she made.
All donations from the event will go to Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause Fiona had fundraised for previously.
Everyone is welcome to join in, and we'd love to see families there. We have a few litter pickers available, but please bring gloves and your own tools if you have them. After the litter pick, we’ll return to the shop to share cake and conversation with the Let’s Buzz team.
